This award has been awarded by the Brigade for many years as a means of recognising the most outstanding contribution of a member during each year. The Champion Firefighter is the most prestigious internal Brigade award. The award is somewhat akin to a best and fairest or most valuable player award that we generally see in the sporting sector. However, to be Champion Firefighter you are not necessarily the best or most qualified firefighter but more appropriately fulfil the full breadth of responsibilities of a Brigade member and demonstrate outstanding commitment and dedication to the Brigade and serving the community.
